Singapore, 9 November, 2009 – Night Safari has clinched the “Best Visitor Attraction Experience” award at the Singapore Experience Awards 2009, organised by Singapore Tourism Board. The prestigious award recognises Night Safari’s efforts in creating memorable visitor experiences, attracting visitors from Singapore and overseas; and promoting Singapore as a premier visitor destination. This is the eighth time Night Safari has been conferred the award.
“We are elated about winning the award. To promote the park as one of Singapore’s unique attractions, Night Safari continuously work towards raising its profile by introducing new exhibits, upgrading existing ones and offering themed events. The award would offer us industry-wide recognition as one of the best in Singapore,” said Ms Fanny Lai, Group CEO Wildlife Reserves Singapore.
“We aim to be a premier attraction that inspires visitors to appreciate nature through exciting wildlife experiences,” Ms Lai added. As testament to its business excellence, Night Safari also won Best Theme Attraction for the second concurrent time at the 20th Annual TTG Travel Awards earlier this year.
Night Safari obtained an all time high attendance of more than 8,000 on Halloween day in October 2008. The annual event - Halloween Horrors - also brought an increase of slightly more than 12% visitors in 2008 compared to 2007. In addition to Halloween celebrations, both local and overseas visitors can look forward to Christmas themed festivities this December.
The Singapore Experience Awards organised by the Singapore Tourism Board is the most prestigious award in Singapore's tourism industry. It recognises individuals and organisations with the best products and service delivery who have contributed to a distinctive and compelling Singapore experience.
Night Safari constantly looks to re-invent and refresh the park and exhibits to offer visitors exceptional experience with excellent and professional service. The world’s first nocturnal park, Night Safari offers guests the unique experience of exploring wildlife in a tropical jungle at night. Through the use of subtle lighting technique, guests are able to view over 1,000 nocturnal animals of 130 species in vast naturalistic habitats of 40 hectares.
